Upon completing their military service in 1973, Steve Aron and Rich Hennig enrolled in the University of Wyoming College of Law. Jan Rerucha also enrolled at UW College of Law in 1973 as their classmate. Prior law school credits enabled Steve to graduate in 1975, when he founded the practice. Rich joined Steve in 1976, and the firm of Aron & Hennig was established in the historic Albany Mutual Building in downtown Laramie (in 2010, the firm relocated downtown to its current location in the First Interstate Bank Building). Jan Rerucha joined Aron & Hennig in 1990, after prior private practice in Laramie. From those early years together, though style and practice areas diverged, the three aligned on several immutable values: hard work, attention to detail, quality work product, and a commitment to each client’s cause. The culture of our law firm is still guided by those common values. While the phrase “treat each client’s business and matter as it were the most important to be undertaken in the legal profession” was more reality than doctrine during those early years, that same expectation has also ingrained itself into our culture.
Simply put, the founding partners’ careers embody a model of exceptionalism in legal ability and ethical practice that succeeding generations of the firm’s attorneys aspire to replicate.
We have a longstanding commitment to mentorship and collaboration, and invest internally to prepare our attorneys to perform in a knowledgeable and ethical manner. We are mindful that our clients operate and make decisions in an often complex, challenging, and competitive environment – our job is not just to provide legal services, but to provide them in a manner that clients can understand and implement. Through this approach we endeavor to add value and develop close working relationships with our clients to deliver both creative and practical solutions to further their goals, and assist in solving problems or dispute resolution.
